A former Guidewire Software executive is Willis Towers Watson’s new senior technology director for its Insurance Consulting and Technology business. An ex-Willis Re executive is the new global head of Sales for Guy Carpenter & Co.

Willis Towers Watson appointed Alexander Van Gorden as senior technology director for its Insurance Consulting and Technology business.
In this role, Van Gorden will partner with chief information officers and chief technology officers of client organizations, as well as key players within the insurance and reinsurance industries, to provide guidance and leadership around
innovation and technology-related decisions. Based in Philadelphia, Van Gorden will report to Serhat Guven, Insurance Consulting and Technology leader for the Americas.
Previously, Van Gorden served as senior sales executive for Guidewire Software. He also held leadership positions at RMS and Duck Creek Technologies as client director and regional sales director, respectively.

Marsh & McLennan’s Guy Carpenter & Company made Jeffrey Livingston its global head of Sales, effective Sept. 1. Livingston will also join the Guy Carpenter Executive Committee.

In this newly created role, Livingston will be responsible for leading all of Guy Carpenter‘s sales activities, and developing commercial strategies that will help clients realize their business growth goals. Livingston will report to Peter Hearn, president and CEO of Guy Carpenter.
Livingston brings almost 30 years of industry experience to the role, operating extensively in the broking arena and across both the insurance and reinsurance sectors. Most recently, he was vice chair, North America at Willis Re and prior to that was director of Portfolio Solutions at Marsh. Earlier in his career, he also held senior positions at Willis Re after starting his professional journey at Sedgwick Re.
