The Chubb Corp. board of directors elected Paul Krump as its chief operating officer, a temporary position that will last until Chubb’s $28 billion merger with ACE Ltd. concludes in the 2016 first quarter.

chubbKrump, is slated to lead North America Commercial and Personal Lines at the post-merger company, which will keep the Chubb name. He’ll also serve as executive vice president for Global Underwriting and Claims.

Right now, he’s president of personal lines and claims at Chubb.

In his temporary role as COO, Krump will handle Chubb’s commercial, specialty, personal and accident & health insurance lines. He’ll also oversee claims, global field operations, information technology, human resources, communications and external affairs.

ACE Ltd. named the leadership team for its Canadian operations, appointments that will become effective once its $28 billion merger with Chubb concludes in early 2016.

The team will work for Ellen Moore, who will become senior vice president, North American Insurance, and regional executive officer, Canadian Operations. She’s currently senior vice president and Canadian Zone Officer for Chubb & Son and president and CEO of the Chubb Insurance Company of Canada.ace_logo_1

As previously announced, Moore will report to Harold Morrison, Jr., who will become senior vice president of the new Chubb Group and division president, field operations for the North America insurance division.

Andy Hollenberg, currently county president, Canada, ACE Group, will report to Moore as regional chief operating officer.

The Canada business unit leaders will include:

  • Paul Johnstone, who will lead personal risk services and report to Moore. He’s currently senior vice president, Chubb Personal Insurance, Canada.
  • Terri Mitchell will lead Accident, Health and Life Insurance and report to Hollenberg. Right now, she’s executive vice president and COO for ACE in Canada.
  • Ana Robic is slated to lead Commercial Insurance. She’ll report to Moore. Currently, she’s senior vice president, Chubb Commercial Insurance, Canada.
  • Bobbie Goldie, currently vice president, professional risk, for ACE in Canada, will lead Major Accounts and report to Moore.

ACE/Chubb also announced its Canada post-merger management for professional lines, regional field and marketing.

Everest Re Group Ltd. said it extended the employment contract of President and CEO Dominic Addesso through Dec. 31, 2018.

Everest Re Group is a Bermuda holding company with a number of subsidiaries that provide reinsurance to property casualty insurers in the U.S. and abroad. They include Everest Reinsurance, Mt. Logan Re and Everest National Insurance Company.
