W.R. Berkley Corp. named a new senior vice president with an international focus, ACE Group appointed three people who will help grow its Middle East and North Africa business, and OneBeacon Insurance Group hired a senior vice president of financial institutions.
W.R. Berkley Corp. appointed James Bronner as a senior vice president at the insurance holding company.
Bronner, a 30-year industry veteran, will oversee some of Berkley’s international insurance operations.
In a statement, Berkley executive chairman William R. Berkley said that Bronner has extensive experience in developing and managing significant books of businesses in growing foreign insurance markets.
Warda Saeed Habib will be regional underwriting manager, property, for ACE in the Middle East and North Africa. She was most recently at Hannover Re, where she was facultative reinsurance manager in Bahrain.
Ayat Sobeh has been promoted to the job of senior property underwriter for the region, after serving as property underwriter. She will focus on helping ACE’s property insurance portfolio expand profitably. She’ll report to Habib.
Batool Ali, is also promoted, to the role of assistant energy underwriter. Currently underwriting assistant, casualty, for ACE in MENA, Batool will focus on building ACE’s regional energy portfolio for the Middle East and North Africa.
OneBeacon Insurance Group named Chris Luca as its senior vice president of financial institutions.
Luca will be tasked with helping establish what is OneBeacon’s newest business, with a focus on product development, distribution and underwriting matters. He’ll be based in OneBeacon’s New York City office and report to Kevin Koehler, president of OneBeacon Financial Institutions.
Before OneBeacon, Luca was vice president of Everest National’s Financial Institutions group.
