Arch Insurance North America announced the appointment of Nora Deveau as chief claims officer, effective August 1.
Deveau joined Arch in 2005 and has since held roles of increasing responsibility within the claims department. She most recently served as deputy chief claims officer from 2022-2026.
She succeeds Patrick Nails, who will retire after 22 years of distinguished service.
Nails joined Arch in 2004 and was named general counsel in 2012. He subsequently moved to the claims department in 2018 and has since served as chief claims officer.

The Allstate Corporation named Christian Lown as executive vice president and chief financial officer, effective August 3.
He will report to Tom Wilson, chair, president and CEO of The Allstate Corporation.
With more than 25 years of senior leadership experience in finance and capital markets, Lown has led organizations through growth, transformation and complex market environments. He joins Allstate from CoStar Group, where he served as CFO and led finance, investor relations, business development and facilities. He previously served as CFO at Freddie Mac and Navient Corporation, following senior finance roles at Morgan Stanley and UBS.
Lown succeeds Jess Merten, who was named president of property-liability in October 2025 after serving as Allstate’s CFO. John Dugenske, president, investments and corporate strategy, has served as interim CFO and will continue in that role until Lown joins Allstate.

Everest Group Ltd. appointed Craig Hanrahan as global distribution and chief commercial officer, effective August 1, 2026.
He will continue to report directly to Jim Williamson, Everest president and chief executive officer, serving as a member of the company’s executive leadership team.
In his new role, Hanrahan will lead Everest’s global distribution strategy and key commercial relationships across its insurance and reinsurance businesses, partnering closely with business leaders to advance Everest’s commitment to delivering exceptional service, underwriting expertise and long-term value to clients and brokers worldwide.
Hanrahan most recently served as head of U.S. Retail Insurance, where he led Everest’s U.S. Retail Insurance portfolio across commercial property, casualty, financial lines and industry practice solutions. Since joining Everest in 2024 as Northeast Regional executive officer, he also served as head of North America Field Operations, leading the company’s four U.S. retail regions and strengthening underwriting, service, claims and distribution capabilities nationwide.
