A man was sentenced for his role in two separate organized retail theft and trafficking rings, according to an announcement by Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes.
Alexander Dantzler was convicted of stealing more than $140,000 worth of merchandise from Walmart stores across Arizona.
In one case, Dantzler targeted Walmart stores in various counties, including Mohave, Graham, Pima, Pinal, Santa Cruz, Maricopa County and Yavapai County.
In the second case, Dantzler targeted a Walmart Neighborhood Market in Pima County.
On March 10, 2026, Dantzler pled guilty to 2 counts of Organized Retail Theft, 3 counts of Trafficking in Stolen Property, 2 counts of Fraudulent Schemes and Artifices and 2 counts of Illegally Conducting an Enterprise.
On April 23, 2026, he was sentenced to 8 years in the Department of Corrections and 14 years probation. He was ordered to pay $140,000 in restitution to Walmart.
“Thanks to our great partnerships with local law enforcement we were able to bust this major organized retail theft ring operating throughout the state,” said Attorney General Mayes. “We will keep working to combat organized retail crime and hold bad actors accountable.”
Other co-defendants are charged and pending litigation. They are presumed innocent until convicted, the attorney general’s press release stated.
