RMS Named a former McKinsey & Co. executive as its president. Allied World beefed up its Onshore Construction arm in Australia with a new executive appointment. Catastrophe modeling firm RMS appointed former McKinsey & Co. executive Mike Pritula as its new president.

Pritula takes on his new position on March 1. He’ll focus on leading RMS’ client service and market development.

The executive spent more than 35 years at McKinsey, where he has worked with leading international insurers, reinsurers, brokers and industry associations on all facets of improving business performance. RMS said that Pritula has been a leader in building McKinsey’s insurance practice “into the most respected and broadest source of performance improvement counsel in the global insurance industry.”

At RMS, he’ll focus on similar tasks, with a goal of helping to enable clients’ strategic success.

Karsten Buescher was appointed assistant vice president, Onshore Construction, Australia for Allied World Assurance Company Holdings.

He’ll report to Clifford Scott, vice president and head of Onshore Construction, Asia-Pacific at Allied World.

Buescher’s hiring is part of a continued effort by Allied World to build out its Australia office and beef up its Onshore Construction offering in the Asia-Pacific Region. He brings to the table nearly 20 years of professional experience in engineering, underwriting and risk engineering, developed from executive roles at global companies including FM Insurance Company Ltd. and Munich Re.

Greg Johnson is the new vice president of Business Development for Travel at Arch Insurance Group, a member of Arch Capital Group Ltd.

Johnson has more than 15 years of travel insurance market development and sales management experience. He’ll report to Linda Fallon, senior vice president of Travel.

Previously, Johnson was vice president, Business Development and Sales, at Trip Mate, and vice president, Sales, at Travelex Insurance Services.

Arch Capital Group Ltd. is a Bermuda-based company that provides insurance and reinsurance globally through its wholly owned subsidiaries.

Miller Insurance Services hired Damian Richards, an experienced broker and producer, to expand its facultative property team.

Richards will be tasked with working with the team in London, as well as colleagues across the company, to develop tailored facultative reinsurance products for its clients, with a focus on UK cedents, the broker said.

Richards has more than 20 years of insurance experience in the production and placement of property risks across a number of sectors. Most recently, he was senior vice president at Guy Carpenter, where he focused on the production and placement of facultative reinsurance for UK cedents. He started his insurance career at Willis Towers Watson, gaining experienced handling retail property business before spending 15 years at Marsh & McLennan Companies.
