PartnerRe hired a former Aon Benfield executive to be its new head of Latin America. CoreLogic appointed a new CEO, after the unexpected passing of its previous leader. Argo Group International Holdings brought on two new board members that will help guide execution of its digital strategy.

A former Aon Benfield executive is the new head of Latin America for PartnerRe Ltd.

Humberto Cabrera will be replacing interim head of Latin America, Salvatore Orlando, who will continue in his position as PartnerRe’s head of Middle East, Africa and Russia. Cabrera will be based in PartnerRe’s Miami office.

In his new role, Cabrera will lead development of PartnerRe’s Latin America business plan. He’ll report to Tad Walker, CEO of PartnerRe’s Property and Casualty segment and Group Executive Committee member.

Cabrera is a 25-year reinsurance industry veteran. Previously, he was chief commercial officer and head of treaty for Aon Benfield Latin America, handling strategic planning and managing regional and local reinsurance operations in Latin America. Before that, he was CEO and president of Aon Benfield Columbia Ltda.

CoreLogic, a data, analytics and catastrophe modeling company, has made Frank Martell its new president and CEO.

The company’s former chief operating officer replaces Anand Nallathambi, who died after a brief illness on March 2, 2017. Martell briefly became acting president until the company’s Board of Directors made it official on March 6.

Martell joined CoreLogic in 2011 as chief financial officer and became chief operating officer in 2014. Before CoreLogic, he served as president and chief executive officer of the Western Institutional Review Board. Before that, he held various executive roles at companies including ACNielsen Corp., where he served from 1996 to 2006 in a number of leadership positions.

Argo Group International Holdings appointed Dee Lehane and Al-Noor Ramji to its board of directors, and both will help the specialty insurer and reinsurer further its digital strategy.

Lehane has experience dealing with strategic issues and technology-led business change at global insurance companies. She was previously managing partner Global Insurance Industry for Accenture, where she worked for over 20 years. Right now, she’s the independent chair of the Debt Market Integrator, a Cabinet office venture serving a number of government departments, and chair of ORIC International, the Insurance Industry Risk Consortium.

Ramji, meanwhile, joined Prudential in 2016 to fill the insurer’s newly-created role of Group Chief Digital Officer, and is helping to develop an integrated, long-term digital strategy for the group. Before that, he worked at Northgate Capital, a Silicon Valley venture firm, where he ran technology-focused funds.
