Heat, fire, freezing conditions, and water will converge in the U.S. this weekend, according to the National Weather Service.
A rare March heat wave continues with above-normal temperatures over much of the Southwest U.S., while critical fire weather will persist from the central Rockies to the central and southern Plains through the weekend as gusty winds and low relative humidity continue, the weather service said.
While several islands continue to dig out of mudslides from last week’s torrential rain, another Kona low will bring several rounds of moderate to heavy rainfall to Hawaii through Sunday.
The northern Great Lakes and New England will see periods of wintry weather with freezing rain and icy conditions expected.
