InsurTech company Blink Parametric announced its partnership with AwayCare, a managing general agent (MGA) and provider of travel insurance products in Canada. The coverage will be underwritten by Canadian insurance group Northbridge Financial Corporation, a Fairfax company.

Blink Parametric, wholly owned by CPP Group, offers a claims process automation service that monitors flights in real time. If a delay occurs to a registered flight, the traveler is notified instantly and offered service choices within their policy terms. AwayCare policyholder benefits include complimentary airport lounge access when the insured’s flight is delayed more than two hours or an instant payment issued to the travelers’ smartphone.

This partnership resulted from collaboration between AwayCare, Blink and Red Consulting, a travel insurance and medical assistance consulting company leading the expansion of Blink Parametric products throughout Canada and the U.S. Blink partners with insurers and travel organizations throughout Europe, Asia, North America, and Central and Latin America.

Duck Creek Technologies, a software-as-a-service provider for the property/casualty and general insurance industry, announced that data company Precisely launched a new integration with Duck Creek Policy, serving as the tenth such integration between Precisely and the Duck Creek Platform to date.

The Precisely CAT Area Underwriting Embargo integration for Duck Creek Policy is designed to give carriers more control when it comes to writing policies in potential natural disaster prone areas. This integration leverages Precisely Spectrum Spatial to manually select areas that are seen as high risk to the carrier.

Duck Creek Policy supports the full insurance policy life cycle process with automation and workflow management capabilities, an integrated development environment for insurance products, and pre-built content using low-code tools and delivered though a software-as-a-service model.

SageSure, a technology-driven managing general underwriter specializing in catastrophe-challenged property markets, deployed Snapsheet’s claims management platform on Jan. 1, 2022.

Snapsheet is a provider of virtual appraisals and cloud-native claims management software.

SageSure said in a company press release that this partnership will enhance its claims management process by digitizing and automating key parts of the claims life cycle. The company added that Snapsheet’s multichannel communication capabilities will also enable a higher level of engagement among SageSure, its carriers and its policyholders, providing greater transparency and improving cycle times throughout the claims process.

Home insurance group Hippo expanded its commercial lines homeowners association (HOA) insurance into new markets utilizing tech provider Socotra’s platform and open APIs. This will enable Hippo’s commercial lines product to offer customers accurate insurance quotes and tailored policy coverage.

Socotra’s cloud-native core platform enables Hippo’s product experience to cover the entire life cycle of an HOA insurance policy and includes a rating algorithm, underwriting and policy administration. Hippo said in a press release that the partnership, which began in early 2021, has helped accelerate its growth into the commercial lines space.

Hippo’s HOA insurance, which launched in Arizona in August 2021, has since expanded to more than 15 states. It is now available in Arizona, Colorado, Delaware, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Massachusetts, Maryland, Michigan, Nevada, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Utah, Wisconsin and West Virginia, with plans to continue to grow its commercial lines insurance offering.
