Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance expanded its U.S. Executive & Professional Lines leadership team with three new appointments. PartnerRe has a new board member.

Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance expanded its U.S. Executive & Professional Lines leadership team, naming Shelley Norman as Senior Vice President, Management Liability, Central Region, and also promoting Kevin Gallagher to Senior Vice President, Management Liability, East Region, and Sean Cox to Senior Vice President, Management Liability, West Region.

Norman joins BHSI after more than 25 years at AIG, where she was most recently Financial Lines Zonal Executive. Her previous leadership roles at AIG include Head of Private Non-Profit Management Liability for the U.S. & Canada, and Chief Underwriting Officer for the Private Non-Profit, Management Liability team. She is based in BHSI’s Chicago office,

Gallagher, who has 20 years of industry experience, came to BHSI in 2013 as Vice President, Executive Lines. He was previously Assistant Vice President for Arch Insurance’s Executive Assurance and Financial Lines Group and is based in BHSI’s New York office.

Cox has more than 16 years of experience in executive and professional lines and joined BHSI as Vice President, Executive Lines, in 2014. He was previously Assistant Regional Underwriting Manager at AIG and is based in BHSI’s New York office.

PartnerRe Ltd. appointed Enrico Vellano to its Board of Directors, succeeding John Elkann as Exor’s representative, effective February 18, 2021.

Vellano is the Chief Financial Officer of Exor. He started his working experience in 1997 at IFIL, the investment company controlled by the Agnelli Family and since that time, has held increasingly relevant positions until he was named Chief Financial Officer in 2006.

Commenting on the appointment, John Elkann, Chairman and Chief Executive of Exor, the owner of PartnerRe, said Vellano’s appointment to the board is “a further signal of our long-term commitment to the company and its independent strategy.”

The PartnerRe Board comprises five directors of which three are fully independent from the Company.
