AXIS Insurance hired a new underwriting executive for its Small Specialty Commercial division. Specialist insurer Beazley appointed two underwriters in the U.S. to write Deadly Weapons Protection (DWP) and Safeguard cover.

AXIS Insurance, the specialty insurance business segment of AXIS Capital Holdings Limited, hired Carol Chavers as Underwriting Innovation Lead for Small Specialty Commercial.

Chavers will handle underwriting processes, business results and advancements in the business unit’s digital underwriting capabilities. She’ll initially lead strategic growth for the new AXIS Home Based Business product, which offers customized coverage designed specifically for the unique environment in which a home business operates.

Chavers will report to Jill Bryant, Head of Small Specialty Commercial at AXIS Insurance.

Chavers has nearly 30 years of underwriting experience, having held several leadership positions centered around small business and digital operational models. She joins AXIS from The Cincinnati Insurance Company, where she was Vice President, Small Business and led the design and development of an automated underwriting platform. Prior, she worked as an Assistant Vice President, Small Business at CNA Financial. She also worked for Zurich North America as a Vice President Underwriter for Small-Mid Commercial Markets Underwriter.

Specialist insurer Beazley appointed two underwriters in the U.S. to write Deadly Weapons Protection (DWP) and Safeguard – service-led insurance cover designed to help organizations reduce the risk of violent incidents or abuse occurring, and to respond quickly and effectively when required.

Lindsey Fyfe joins Beazley from Risk Placement Services in Georgia where she spent more than seven years specializing in casualty risks. Previously she was an associate broker at AmWINS Group for two-and-a-half years. She will be based in Beazley’s Atlanta office.

Kyle Rolf was previously with Liberty Mutual in San Diego, most recently as a senior territory manager focused on portfolio management and business development having joined the company as a commercial underwriter in 2013. He will be based in Southern California.

DWP and Safeguard are standalone insurance products that offer critical prevention and crisis response services as standard as well as insurance coverage.
