A former Munich Re executive joined AXA XL in a leadership role involving reinsurance sales in Latin America. Another ex-Munich Re executive signed on with AXIS Re as a Senior Underwriter for its North America Casualty team.

AXA XL appointed a former Munich Re executive as Head of Latin America, Reinsurance.

Michael Yeats will fill the role while based in Bogota, Columbia and report to Peter Schmidt, Chief Executive Emerging Markets, Reinsurance.

At Munich Re Yeats was most recently Vice President, Engineering and Specialty Marine for the Americas. Previously he held the role of Treaty Client Manager for South America, and Head of Marine Reinsurance (Latin America & Caribbean, Spain, Portugal) at the same organization. Yeats previously worked at AXA XL as Deputy Office Leader and Treaty Underwriter in Bogota from 2012 to 2016.

Yeats will oversee AXA XLs Reinsurance offices in Bogota, Buenos Aires, Miami and Sao Paulo.

Former Munich Re executive Michelle Glass is joining AXIS Re as a Senior Underwriter for its North America Casualty team.

Glass joins AXIS Re from Munich Re, where she spent more than 20 years, and was most recently Senior Vice President and Casualty Team lead. Before that, she held underwriting positions at the American International Group, Interstate International Group, and Crum and Foster with a focus on Casualty in the North American market.

Separately, Halina Herc transferred to the AXIS Re North America Casualty team as a Senior Underwriter.

Herc joins from the AXIS Re Regional & Multi-line team. She has held several underwriting roles at AXIS Re since joining the company in 2002. Previously, she held underwriting roles at Everest Re and Converium in the North American property, casualty and multi-line spaces.
