Newly released CARFAX data estimates that the destructive wildfires in Southern California destroyed up to 6,300 vehicles earlier this year.
“It’s heart-wrenching to witness the scale of destruction in California, and it’s difficult to even begin thinking about replacing what’s been lost,” said Patrick Olsen, Editor-in-Chief at CARFAX.
The number of destroyed vehicles involved could lead to an unexpected increase in car prices on the West Coast.
CARFAX data for listings on the West Coast indicates the average cost of used pickup trucks increased by $400 last month.
Across the nation, the average price of pickups fell by about $350 last month.
