The impending retirement of a major executive at Everest Re Group is spurring a number of senior leadership changes.

Mark de Saram, managing director and CEO of Everest Reinsurance (Bermuda), Ltd., plans to retire on April 6. He’ll be moving on from a position he’s had since 2004, and de Saram first joined Everest back in 1995.

Plans call for having Sanjoy Mukherjee succeed de Saram as managing director and CEO of Everest Reinsurance (Bermuda), Lt., pending Bermuda’s immigration department approval. He’s currently executive vice president and general counsel for Everest Re, and will continue those roles when he takes on his new responsibilities.

As well, Andrew Carrier, Everest Re’s general manager of European operations, will replace de Saram in handling full management responsibility for the company’s London, Continental European and Asia-Pacific reinsurance operations.
