Ironshore Inc. promoted Ronald Gleason to the new role of global energy industry practice leader.

Gleason, a senior vice president, is currently Ironshore regional executive for South Central and based in Houston. He’ll continue in that role, and now also be responsible for developing integrated insurance products for the energy sector aligned with Ironshore underwriting specialists throughout its global platform.

Gleason joined Ironshore in 2009 to establish the Houston Office. He also has past experience leading the regional energy operation of AIG Global Energy, and was profit center manager for the AIG energy division.

Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance brought on a veteran of CNA and AIG to be head of claims for a new line expansion.

The effort will initially target broker deals and life insurance companies with field forces of more than 500 registered representatives or agents.

Paul Humel, AVP, Financial Institutions, Executive & Professional Lines, BHSI, will handle underwriting for the new line.

Martin most recently was director, life agents broker dealer claims, at CNA Specialty Claim. Before that she was complex claims director, financial institutions/national accounts, at AIG.

Lloyd’s turned to the academic world to hire a regional director for its newly established South Central U.S. region.

Enya He was most recently associate professor, risk management and insurance at the University of North Texas. In that job, she worked to ensure the post-graduate launch of hundreds of RMI students into the U.S. insurance/reinsurance industry. Lloyd’s noted that she built strong relationships with many brokers, coverholders, insurers, risk managers and industry trade organizations that it considers to be important business partners.

Prior to her academic career, He worked in China for Ping An Insurance Group, Tong Tai Insurance Brokerage and Swiss Life Group (China).

For her new job, He will be based in Dallas and handle market development work for Lloyd’s in Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Texas.
