American International Group announced the retirement of Don Bailey, executive vice president and chief executive officer, North America Commercial Insurance, who will step down at year-end to focus on his health. AIG also announced a new leadership structure for North America.

Bailey joined AIG in 2023 as global head of Distribution and Field Operations, coming from Bristlecone Partners, a growth and human capital consultancy firm, where he had been a Partner since 2017. Prior to that, he served as president of Global Sales at Marsh. Earlier in his career, Bailey served as president of Allstate B2B and chairman of Encompass, the mass affluent personal lines subsidiary of Allstate. He also previously served as chairman and CEO of Willis Towers Watson North America.

AIG’s new North America leadership structure will take effect on Jan. 1, 2026, and the following leaders will report to John Neal, the incoming president of AIG:

  • Allison Cooper will be promoted to Co-President, Retail, North America Commercial
  • Barbara Luck, will be promoted to Co-President, Retail, North America Commercial
  • Lou Levinson, will be promoted to President, Wholesale, North America Commercial
