An AXA XL veteran is joining The Hartford as Chief Underwriting Officer within its Global Specialty business unit. Beazley hired a new Chief Operating Officer. A veteran Chubb executive signed on with Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance to lead its recent property insurance underwriting expansion in Germany.

The Hartford is adding Carrie Brodzinski as Chief Underwriting Officer within its Global Specialty business unit. She will be based at the company’s corporate headquarters in Hartford, Connecticut and report to Adrien Robinson, head of Global Specialty insurance.

In her new role at The Hartford, Brodzinski will advance the company’s strategic priorities concerning underwriting excellence and top quartile performance among specialty lines insurers. She will direct and coordinate all aspects of underwriting quality, governance and monitoring of The Hartford’s diverse portfolio of products. Additionally, she will provide leadership on the critical function of underwriter learning and development.

Previously, Brodzinski was the Head of Global Underwriting Management for the Insurance Segment at AXA XL and XL Catlin previously. As an insurance industry executive with more than 25 years of experience in product strategy, underwriting operations and risk analysis, Brodzinski has successfully brought several breakthrough products to the industry, and is a well-known expert on management and professional liability coverage and exposures, The Hartford said.

She began her professional journey as a practicing attorney focused on commercial law and bankruptcy.

Troy Dehmann

Beazley appointed Troy Dehmann as Chief Operating Officer. Dehmann brings more than 20 years of leadership experience in finance, operations and business transformation within the financial services sector.

Most recently he was Global COO for Finance Operations and Core Finance at HSBC. Troy spent almost seven years at HSBC in London, with roles also including Global COO of Business Finance and Global Head of Cost Management.

Before joining HSBC, Dehmann held several banking roles at Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley and JP Morgan Chase in New York. He began his career in finance at data & analytics specialists Dun & Bradstreet Corporation.

Dehmann also joins Beazley’s executive committee and will be based in London. His appointment follows the move by Ian Fantozzi, former COO, to lead Beazley’s recently established digital business unit.

Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance named Natali Bagaric as Head of Property, Mittelstand, to lead its new effort underwriting property insurance for Mittelstand enterprises across Germany.

The company sad she will be tasked with further growth in the segment.

Bagaric comes to BHSI with 18 years of industry experience. She was most recently Practice Leader, Real Estate & Hotels, at Chubb European Group SE in Duesseldorf. Prior to that she was Senior Underwriter, Property, at Chubb.
