The reinsurer SCOR appointed Ian Kelly as its new chief financial officer.
Kelly, most recently head of investor relations, takes on the new position starting on Oct. 2, and will also join the Group Executive Committee.
He replaces Mark Kociancic, who SCORE said “has decided to pursue a new direction in his career” after serving as SCOR Group CFO since 2013, and before that, in finance-related senior positions at the company going back to 2006.
Denis Kessler, SCOR chairman and CEO, noted in prepared remarks that Kelly has spent much of his career at SCOR and knows the company “extremely well” as a result.
Third Point Re named David Junius as chief operating officer.
Once the company’s merger with Sirius International Insurance Group closes, he’ll be appointed chief financial officer of the combined company, which will be known as Sirius Point Ltd.
Junius is a 23-year insurance industry veteran, and served most recently as chief financial officer for the International division for AIG’s General Insurance Arm. Before that, he was AIG’s Corporate Treasurer, CFO for the AIG Property and Casualty Asia Pacific operations and Managing Director of AIG Strategic Planning.
