Hamilton Re promoted a veteran executive to handle its casualty & specialty operations. broker TigerRisk Partners LLC hired an outside executive to lead one of its key divisions.
Hamilton Re promoted Liam Chan to the position of senior vice president, Casualty & Specialty.
In his new role, Chan underwrites a broad portfolio of casualty and professional lines business, including several specialty classes.
Chan joined Hamilton Re in 2015 after eight years with Brit Insurance. He began his career in London in Brit’s graduate program, rotating between underwriting, actuarial and claims before working as a casualty treaty underwriter. In this role, Chan focused on the London international reinsurance and retrocession market, specializing in professional indemnity, financial institutions, directors’ and officers’ liability, general liability and motor, as well as various specialty lines.

Reinsurance broker TigerRisk Partners LLC hired Stephen Fromm as vice chairman of TigerRisk Capital Markets & Advisory.
In his new role, Fromm will act as a senior investment banker focusing on insurance industry M&A, capital raising and strategic advice. Fromm will be based at TigerRisk’s New York offices.
Fromm has been in private practice, advising a number of start-up and established fintech and financial services companies. Previously he was managing director and vice chairman of Financial Institutions Investment Banking at Deutsche Bank where he played a pivotal role in many high-profile insurance industry transactions.
Prior to that, he was managing director and head of North American Insurance Investment Banking at Citigroup where he advised many of the largest firms in the insurance industry.
Previously, he also Morgan Stanley where he was managing director and Head of Insurance M&A.
