Hamilton Insurance Group has a new chief financial officer for its Hamilton Re arm, an executive promoted from within.
Vanessa Hardy Pickering is currently group controller for the Bermuda-based insurance and reinsurance holding company. Her new position becomes official on Oct. 1, and she’ll report to Hamilton Re CEO Kathleen Reardon.
Hardy Pickering, a Bermudian, has more than 15 years of reinsurance experience, having worked in various roles at Ariel Re, Rosemond Reinsurance Ltd. and Ernst & Young Bermuda.
Swiss Re named two of its employees to executive sales positions with its Swiss Re Corporate Solutions North America division.
Steve Andrzejewski has been appointed senior vice president, head of sales, accident & health, effective immediately. Daniel Combes will become senior vice president, head of sales, East & South regions, as of Nov. 1, 2015.
Andrzejewski, to be based in Schaumburg, Ill., will be tasked with generating new business, managing key broker and client relationships and growing the company’s accident & health portfolio. Previously, he held leadership positions at Aetna, Coventry Health and Wellpoint Health.
Combs, a member of Swiss Re Corporate Solutions since 2012, will be based in New York City as head of East and South Region sales. Combs was previously with Zurich Insurance Group and has more than 15 years of experience in sales, relationship management and distribution.
Aon Benfield is bringing in a veteran of Swiss Re to be the new director of its accident, health and life team.
Colin Dutkiewicz will be based in London and report to Roger Smith, head of Aon Benfield’s accident, health and life arm. He comes from a five-year stint at Swiss Re where he served in roles including head of pricing (Africa), client markets director (U.K. & Ireland) and global corporate actuary.
The Geneva Association appointed Fabian Sommerrock as deputy secretary general and head of insight.
Sommerrock joints the Switzerland-based international insurance industry think tank from Roland Berger Strategy Consultants, where he was a principal at their Financial Services Competence Center and a member of their management team in Switzerland.
