TigerRisk Partners, the reinsurance broking and risk/capital management firm, announced that James F. Dowd, one of the founders of Odyssey Re, will lead TigerRisk’s expansion into international markets.

TigerRisk CEO Rod Fox said Dowd will lead and initiative to expand the firm’s international footprint— first in Asia, and subsequently into other regions of the world.

Until recently, Dowd served as Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Fairfax Asia. He began his insurance industry career in 1971 as general counsel at Skandia America Group where he ultimately became CEO in 1984. From 1993 to 1995 he was Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Willis Re.

TigerRisk Partners is a privately held reinsurance broker and risk/capital management advisor founded in 2008 by Jim Stanard, founder and former CEO of Renaissance Re, and Rod Fox, former CEO of the U.S. operations of Benfield.
