TigerRisk Partners is bringing on a veteran Willis cat bond executive as its new president.
The Connecticut-based reinsurance broking and risk/capital management firm said it has appointed Tony Ursano to the job.
Ursano was previously CEO of Willis Capital Markets and Advisory and helped build the division into an insurance-focused investment banking business. The veteran investment banker and reinsurance expert also has prior experience in executive roles at SG Warburg, Merrill Lynch and Banc of America Securities.
Through his career, he has been involved in more than 125 debt, equity and insurance-linked securities capital offerings, and also more than 100 M&A transactions, according to the TigerRisk announcement.
Ursano will be based in TigerRisk’s newly-opened New York office. He will be tasked with helping to grow the firm’s business, as well as spotting and sourcing the most efficient forms of capital available for TigerRisk’s clients. As well, he’ll build a merge and acquisitions advisory business for TigerRisk.
