An estimated $6 billion will be lost to Porch Pirates this year, according to new statistics released by home security tip company SafeWise.
The sixth annual report provides insight into package theft trends in the United States and identifies the top 10 metros with the highest and lowest theft rates.
Nearly 65 percent of Americans expressed increased anxiety about package theft compared to the previous year, SafeWise found.
The projected losses for 2023 are 5 percent higher than the previous year, underscoring the escalating threat posed by package thieves.
The report found that a staggering 119 million packages are expected to be stolen from front doors this year, emphasizing a need for heightened awareness and preventive measures.
