CNA promoted one of its veteran executives to run its Middle Market business. Enstar appointed an acting CFO after its current one resigned to pursue other opportunities. Marsh hired two former Willis Towers Watson executives to run its Senior Housing and Long-Term Care Practice.


CNA appointed Dieter Korte as Senior Vice President, Middle Market.

In this role, Korte will be responsible for profitability, growth, and strategic direction of CNA’s Middle Market Business Unit.

Korte joined CNA in 2016 after 25 years of commercial leadership in the industry. The company said he has been an integral part of the organization working closely with agents and brokers to provide creative insurance solutions for Middle Market businesses.


Enstar Group has appointed an acting CFO following the resignation Chief Financial Officer Zachary Wolf, who is pursuing other opportunities.

Wolf will remain for a transition position through Sept. 30, 2021. Orla Gregory, Enstar’s current Chief Operating Officer, will serve as acting Chief Financial Officer while the company searches for a permanent replacement.

Michael Murphy, Enstar’s current Chief Accounting Officer, will serve as Deputy Chief Financial Officer.

Gregory has served as Chief Operating Officer since 2016, having previously served as Chief Integration Officer and in executive M&A positions from 2009. She joined Enstar 18 years ago, having previously worked in the insurance industry in Ireland and with Ernst & Young in Bermuda

Murphy joined Enstar in May 2021 as Chief Accounting Officer, most recently serving as Interim Chief Financial Officer and Chief Accounting Officer at TriNet Group, Inc. and Chief Accounting Officer of QBE North America. Murphy has held several senior finance roles in the insurance industry during his 30-year career.

Two former Willis Towers Watson executives have moved to insurance broker Marsh’s Senior Housing and Long-Term Care Practice.

Marsh announced that John Atkinson and Michael Pokora will join to co-lead a new Senior Housing and Long-Term Care Practice for the U.S. and Canada. Based in Chicago, they will report to Jeffrey Alpaugh, Marsh’s U.S. and Canada Growth and Industry Leader.

In this newly created dual leadership role, Atkinson and Pokora will head a team of Marsh industry specialists responsible for transactional and advisory products and services that address risk financing, risk management, and human capital needs of operators and equity providers within the senior housing and aging services industry.

Atkinson also will serve as chairman of Marsh’s Chicago office, where he will lead civic and community engagement and support Marsh’s growing business in the Midwest working alongside the current leadership team.

Atkinson and Pokora join Marsh from Willis Towers Watson where they previously served as executive vice presidents and managing directors of the Senior Living Practice Group. Together they bring decades of risk management experience in the senior living and long-term care space.
