Everest Re’s President and CEO is joining USAA’s board of directors. Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance promoted a veteran executive to the role of Head of Professional Lines for the U.S. Four former BHSI executives joined QBE North America in leadership positions, with a focus on the company’s Financial Lines business.

Juan Andrade, a former Chubb executive and current head of Everest Re Group, joined USAA’s board of directors.

As well, Andrade will serve on the Board’s Risk and Compliance and Member and Technology committees.

Andrade, a 25-year industry veteran, has served in executive leadership roles in underwriting, product development and innovation, claims, sales and distribution, and strategy development; and in general management, where he was responsible for leading all aspects of the business.

Currently, is a director, president and CEO of Everest Re. Before joining Everest, he was Executive Vice President of the Chubb Group and the President of Chubb Overseas General. He was responsible for Chubb’s general insurance business in more than 50 countries outside of North America. His portfolio included commercial property and casualty, traditional and specialty personal lines, and accident and health insurance.

Before ACE Limited’s acquisition of Chubb in January 2016, Andrade was an EVP of ACE and the President of Global Personal and Business Insurance and the Chief Operating Officer for ACE Overseas General. He held senior leadership roles with The Hartford and Progressive, and he started his insurance career with AIG.

Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance promoted Jill Salmon to Head of Professional Lines for the U.S.

In her new role, she will oversee the company’s Lawyers, Architects & Engineers, Miscellaneous E&O and Cyber Liability insurance portfolios.

Salmon is a 25 year insurance industry veteran who has focused mostly on professional lines, and joined BHSI in 2014 as Vice President, Head of Cyber, Technology and Miscellaneous E&O.

QBE North America appointed four senior industry veterans to leadership positions within its Financial Lines business.

Joining QBE are:

  • Danielle Librizzi as Head of Professional Liability
  • Thomas Kocaj as Head of Management Liability
  • Michael McGuinness as Senior Vice President, Public D&O
  • Adam Fleischner as Senior Vice President, Financial Institutions

All four join QBE from Berkshire Hathaway, where Librizzi was Head of Professional Liability, Kocaj was Senior Vice President – Financial Institutions, McGuinness was Vice President, Executive & Professional Lines, and Fleischner was Vice President, Financial Institutions.
