Neptune Flood now offers commercial flood insurance in 48 states to small and mid-sized businesses.
The cover from Neptune, a digital, AI-driven, flood insurance company, is available from over 10,000 Neptune agents across the country.
Phase 1 of this rollout makes Neptune Flood available for non-residential businesses such as offices, retailers and restaurants, with Phase 2 extending the product to hotels, apartment buildings and condominiums later this summer. All Neptune Commercial Flood insurance policies are rated “A” (Excellent) by AM Best and are issued by AXA XL and Lloyd’s, the company said.
Neptune Flood was founded in 2017 by insurance and technology industry veterans with a goal of bringing advanced analytics and extreme ease of use to the flood insurance market.

Cowbell Cyber, a startup that sells cyber insurance relying on artificial intelligence for small and mid-sized businesses, formed a new partnership.
The company said it will work with FICO to add the FICO Cyber Risk Score to its multivariate risk rating factors known as Cowbell Factors to help boost its cyber offerings. By doing so, Cowbell Cyber said, cyber insurance agents can expedite the delivery of standalone cyber policies tailored to the unique coverage needs of all small and medium-sized businesses.
For insurance providers, cyber risk selection and pricing based on company size and industry alone is not specific enough. Evaluating risks related to the use of internet technologies should be done at a granular level to represent the diversity of usage, network footprint and security maturity, the company said. The market-leading FICO Cyber Risk Score enables Cowbell’s ability to compile risk indicators for each class of business and deliver risk ratings in real-time and at scale for individual businesses requesting coverage, according to Cowbell Cyber.
