Starr Insurance Companies has launched a new usage-based general aviation product for pilots who rent aircraft.

The product, called Starr Gate, also includes access to CloudAhoy, a third-party, cloud-based analytics tool that can help improve pilots’ skills, for a potential discount on the premium.

“Qualified pilots can obtain coverage for when they fly,” said Jim Anderson, SVP of Starr Aviation. “If you’re not flying now, apply for the coverage you need when you do start to fly again.”

Starr Gate is available directly to pilots through an iPad app, accessible in the Apple App Store, as well as through insurance brokers.
