Metromile hired a veteran venture capitalist as its chief marketing officer. Marsh made a few senior leadership appointments within its Property and Financial and Professional Liability Practices.
Metromile hired Sunil Rajaraman as its chief marketing officer.
Rajaraman leads teams responsible for bringing the pay-per-mile car insurance startup’s experience and savings to more drivers and sharing the company’s vision for fairer and modern insurance.
The insurance company recently created fractional insurance to reduce the cost of car ownership to support the growing popularity of the shared mobility industry. Metromile’s fractional insurance can help drivers save money by preventing the need to “double-up” on insurance coverage when their car is rented on a shared car marketplace.
Before Metromile, Rajaraman was an entrepreneur-in-residence at Silicon Valley-based venture capital firm Foundation Capital, where he advised startups on go-to-market strategies. He previously founded Scripted.com, a marketplace for businesses to hire writers, where he was CEO, and Radiance Labs, which helped companies communicate and retain their customers. Sunil has also run The Bold Italic, a San Francisco-focused publication, which he later sold to Medium, and led marketing at HR software company Replicon.
Marsh made a few senior leadership appointments within its Property and Financial and Professional Liability (FINPRO) Practices.
Michael Rouse is the new leader of Marsh’s U.S. Property Practice. He brings more than 20 years of property insurance experience to the position, most recently serving as Marsh’s U.S. Property Placement Leader. He succeeds Duncan Ellis, who left Marsh to become AIG’s head of Retail Property within its North America General Insurance division.
Rouse will report to Martin South, President, U.S. and Canada, Marsh.
Separately, Michelle Sartain has been appointed FINPRO Practice Leader for the U.S. and Canada. Sartain has more than 20 years of experience in roles of increasing responsibility at Marsh in FINPRO and in the U.S. sales team, including most recently as U.S. Sales Leader. Sartain reports to Pat Donnelly, Marsh JLT Specialty Leader for U.S, and Canada, and succeeds Devin Beresheim, who departed Marsh to be executive vice president of Lockton Specialty Practices.
Based in New York, Rouse and Sartain join Marsh’s US executive committee.
