Liberty Mutual’s Ironshore Specialty Casualty made two executive appointments involving its Programs business unit in the U.S. Church Mutual Insurance Company promoted four executives into new leadership roles.

Ironshore Specialty Casualty has made two executive appointments involving its Programs business unit in the U.S. Ironshore is part of Liberty Mutual.

Casey Hartley will be senior vice president, head of Programs. As head of Programs, Hartley will oversee the development, marketing and distribution of programs lines, working with programs administrators across Ironshore’s underwriting platforms in the U.S. Supporting her will be Tracey Sharis, senior vice president, who has been appointed director of Programs.

Most recently, Hartley was named to lead U.S. General Liability Lines for Liberty International Underwriters (LIU) in 2016. Before that, she had served in various leadership roles at LIU parent Liberty Mutual Commercial Insurance. Her professional industry career spans more than 17 years, including serving in primary casualty underwriting and regional product roles with Crum & Foster.

Before her new appointment, Sharis was senior vice president of Operations and Distribution for Ironshore Specialty Casualty and senior vice president of Retail Distribution. She joined Ironshore Specialty Casualty in 2011 as vice president for retail and construction business lines within the U.S. Previously, Sharis has held management positions for Aon Benfield within its facultative reinsurance group and with AIG’s Lexington Insurance Company in property and casualty sectors. Sharis has more than 20 years of experience in property, professional liability and casualty sectors.

Church Mutual Insurance Company has promoted four executives into new leadership roles with an eye on propelling growth.

  • Janet Selnes has been promoted to vice president – broker distribution. Selnes most recently served as assistant vice president – broker distribution at Church Mutual. She has been in the insurance industry for more than 30 years, with the last 15 at Church Mutual.
  • Rick Schaber is now vice president – direct sales. In almost two decades at Church Mutual, Schaber has held leadership positions in corporate communications, risk control, administration and sales.
  • Dean Jarnow, who joined Church Mutual in January 2018 as an external consultant, has joined the company as assistant vice president – strategic resource management. Jarnow has more than 25 years of experience in product, project and program management, mainly in the financial services arena.
  • Dale Brom has been promoted to assistant vice president – information technology. His IT career within the insurance industry surpasses 30 years, providing him with extensive experience managing the application portfolio of an insurance company.
