AXIS Capital Holdings is hiring a former Chubb executive as its new chief information officer. Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance named the head of its new Property Construction division in the U.K. and Ireland.

A former Chubb executive is joining AXIS Capital Holdings Ltd. as its new chief information officer.

Keith Schlosser will lead the AXIS global information technology strategy and partner with the company’s Insurance and Reinsurance business segments and other departments. His mandate: to drive change throughout the organization by delivering high-quality, future-oriented IT services in line with AXIS Capital’s business strategy. Schlosser will report to Richard Strachan, AXIS Capital chief operations officer.

Schlosser, a 30-year insurance industry veteran, most recently served for seven years as chief information officer for Chubb’s Overseas General Insurance division, where he spearheaded a number of growth, innovation, digital and change initiatives. Before that, he was a senior IT leader at The Travelers Companies, including serving as CIO of the firm’s international division from 2009-2011. Schlosser was also a vice president for marketing technology and web communications at AIG.

Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance appointed Simeon Seamer to head its new Property Construction division in the U.K. and Ireland.

Beyond property construction, the division is also slated to offer construction industry products including CAR, liability and professional indemnity coverages.

Simeon has nearly 20 years of construction insurance and reinsurance experience, having led underwriting for some of the largest infrastructure projects in the U.S. and Europe. He was most recently EMEA head of Construction & senior underwriter at SCOR Global P&C. Before that he was senior Construction underwriter at Zurich Global Corporate U.K. He began his insurance career as a London Market broker specializing in construction.

BHSI’s Construction team for the U.K. and Ireland also includes James Emson, VP of Casualty, who joins BHSI from QBE in Hong Kong, and Farhad Dabestani, senior underwriter, Professional Indemnity, who comes to BHSI from AXA XL.

Simeon, James and Farhad are all based in BHSI’s office in London.
