Chubb named two executive appointments within its North America Agriculture business. Liberty Mutual appointed two executives to key positions. Alliant appointed a new vice president within its Energy and Marine Group.

Chubb made two executive appointments within its North America Agriculture business, which includes commercial property/casualty insurance and the crop insurance franchise, Rain and Hail.

Michael Coleman will be chairman of Chubb Agriculture and chairman of Rain and Hail, after previously serving as division president of Chubb Agriculture. Scott Arnold was named division president of Chubb Agriculture, North America, and president of Rain and Hail.

As chairman, Coleman will remain active in the business and focus on key industry issues, strategic planning and management oversight of the Rain and Hail board, as well as serving in a senior advisory role to Arnold. Coleman joined the company in 1986 and has served in a number of leadership capacities throughout his tenure. Before ACE acquired Chubb in January 2016, he was named division president of Chubb’s Agriculture business in 2012. Coleman will still be based in Johnston, Iowa, and report to John Lupica, vice chairman, Chubb Group, president, North America Major Accounts and Specialty Insurance.

Arnold, as division president of Chubb Agriculture, will be responsible for both Chubb’s crop business and the commercial property/casualty insurance business. As president, he’ll focus on leading the company’s day-to-day operations.

Arnold has 30 years of industry experience, with eight years at Chubb following the Rain and Hail acquisition in 2010. He most recently served as deputy president, Rain and Hail. Arnold will continue to be based in Johnston, Iowa, and will report to Coleman.

Shaun Kelly has been named president of Distribution for Global Risk Solutions (GRS) at Liberty Mutual. In this role, Kelly will lead distribution and marketing for what the insurer claims is “one of the most diversified commercial and specialty insurance and reinsurance product portfolios in the industry.”

Kelly has more than 30 years’ experience in various leadership positions within the insurance industry. Most recently, he was president of GRS’ North America Specialty unit.

Matthew Dolan has been named president of North America Specialty for Liberty Mutual. Dolan has almost 30 years’ experience in the industry and most recently was president of Ironshore U.S.

Both Kelly and Dolan will report directly to Dennis Langwell, president of GRS.

Alliant hired Brian Hotard as vice president within the firm’s Energy and Marine group. To be based in Louisiana, Hotard will provide insurance and risk management products and services to a growing regional client base.

Hotard joins Alliant with previous experience providing a full range of property/casualty insurance products and services to clients throughout the Gulf South. Before joining Alliant, he was a producing agent with a large regional insurance brokerage firm where he specialized in clients within the energy and marine sectors.
