The Hartford is boosting its advertising investment in Major League Baseball.
Already a sponsor of five teams, The Hartford said it will add five more to the list: the Atlanta Braves, Baltimore Orioles, Colorado Rockies, Minnesota Twins and Pittsburg Pirates. The property/casualty insurer initially signed up last spring to sponsor the Kansas City Royals, San Diego Padres, San Francisco Giants, St. Louis Cardinals and Texas Rangers NLB Teams.
Kathy Bromage, The Hartford’s chief marketing officer, said that an expanded sponsorship deal with Major League Baseball will help increase the insurer’s brand visibility.
“The activation of our sponsorship revolves around the role that relief pitchers and closers play in the game,” Bromage said in prepared remarks. “Teams rely on them to help them prevail when the game is on the line, just as our customers rely on us to help them prevail when the unexpected happens.”
Last June, the Hartford sealed a multi-year sponsorship deal with Major League Baseball, making it an “Official Sponsor of Major League Baseball” as well as the exclusive business insurance, homeowners insurance and employee benefits partner of MLB.
The Hartford’s MLB sponsorship also includes presenting sponsorship of the Mariano Rivera American League Reliever of the Year and Trevor Hoffman National League Reliever of the Year awards.
