Bermuda holding company Everest Re Group Ltd. is bringing on Andrew Carrier as the new president of Everest Advisors, U.K. and general manager of European Operations.

Carrier was most recently chief underwriting officer of Argo Group International Holdings Ltd. and is a veteran of the international insurance and reinsurance businesses. He begins his new job with Everest on Nov. 3, 2014, the company said in its announcement.

In May, Carrier announced he would be leaving Argo for personal reasons sometime this summer. His replacement as chief underwriting officer is already at Argo—Axel Schmidt. Schmidt was previously chief underwriting officer for Aviva’s U.K. and Ireland business across personal, commercial and corporate/specialty lines.
