A trio of specialty and risk insurance veterans has launched Specialty Insurance Group (SIG) to provide custom programs for the ever-changing needs of the sports, leisure and entertainment markets.

SIG’s target programs include amateur and professional sports, motor sports, entertainment, event sponsors, venues and special events. The company offers insurance products in contingency, participant accident, workers compensation, property and liability coverage.

Heading the company are Greg Mosher, managing director; David Harris, senior vice president; and Lowery Robinson, vice president.

Mosher is responsible for the management of the overall operation, including marketing, business development and distribution planning. He has more than 30 years of corporate financial and insurance experience, including serving as chairman and CEO of Workflow Management Inc. and as president and CEO of Renaissance Group.

Mosher was also the co-founder, president and CEO of K&K Insurance Group, specializing in sports, leisure and entertainment business. He also founded several nonprofit organizations, including the Daybreak Children’s Shelter and The Rising Phoenix Foundation.

Harris oversees the underwriting and operational functions of SIG. Prior to joining SIG, he was the executive underwriting officer for American Specialty Insurance and Risk Services, a company he formed with two partners to provide risk services and insurance products specifically for the sports and entertainment industries.

He has more than 30 years of insurance experience specializing in the sports and entertainment field and developed many complex programs, including motor sports, Major League Baseball, the Olympic games, the Special Olympics, and amusement parks and attractions. He has also participated as a member of the risk committee for several Olympic games.

Robinson is responsible for the production and underwriting of contingency insurance products for the sports and entertainment industries. Prior to joining SIG, he was CEO of Marketing ETC, a company he founded in 1998 that specialized in contingency coverages and specialty risks.

Robinson also founded the specialty risk division of American Hole ‘n One/American Media Agency. He has 20-plus years of experience in a wide array of specialty coverages, including prize indemnity, weather and event cancellation, hole-in-one, and kidnap and ransom. Robinson graduated from University of West Georgia, where he played college baseball and received All-Conference honors.

He was also a professional player with the New York Mets.
