PartnerRe Ltd. announced estimates of its cost for the German hailstorms that occurred in the last week of July 2013, putting the losses at between $50 million and $60 million pre-tax.
The range of figures is net of retrocession and reinstatement premiums.
PartnerRe said the losses will be recorded in its third quarter-2013 results, with the majority impacting the reinsurer’s catastrophe sub-segment.
The company’s estimate of losses for these events is based on information received to date from cedants, as well as analysis of the company’s exposures, PartnerRe said, noting the uncertainty associated with any loss estimate.
