Whisker Labs, a provider of AI-powered fire prevention, announced the next evolution of its technology with Ting’s expansion into water loss prevention.

Starting this winter, Ting will extend beyond electrical fire prevention to also help prevent damage from frozen pipes.

This new capability builds on Ting’s presence in more than 1 million homes by leveraging its built-in temperature sensing, power outage detection, and AI-powered insights to detect frozen pipe risk in real time before damage occurs. When risk is detected, homeowners receive an alert and in-app guidance to take preventive action.

Whisker Labs develops sensor technology that protects families, homes, and communities by predicting and preventing electrical fires while also monitoring the resiliency and safety of the U.S. electrical grid. Its flagship solution, Ting, draws on decades of electromagnetic and atmospheric sensor expertise combined with AI to detect electrical faults in the home and on the grid. Through a single, DIY sensor plugged into a wall outlet, Ting enables intelligent detection and mitigation of hazards before they can start a fire.
