The Insurance Industry Charitable Foundation honored Eric J. Andersen, president of Aon, with IICF’s Golden Horizon Award.
The annual award recognizes an individual within the insurance community who has demonstrated philanthropic excellence and leadership.
IICF also granted nearly $410,000 at its seventh annual IICF Western Division Horizon Award Gala in Los Angeles last week. The event gathered insurance leaders from the western states, along with representatives of nonprofit partners, in celebration of the industry’s legacy of collaboration and giving by raising funds for nonprofit and charitable organizations.
Andersen is involved with the Federal Advisory Committee on Insurance, as well as the Insurance Development Forum. He sits on the board of trustees of Colgate University and is a board member of Covenant House New Jersey, which helps homeless, at-risk and runaway youth.
“It’s an honor to receive this recognition, but what’s most important is the impact we are making on our communities,” Andersen said. “The role we all collectively play in helping businesses and communities prepare for risks and mitigate loss in the face of increased volatility greatly contributes to a more resilient and inclusive future.”
Proceeds from the 2022 Western Division Horizon Award Gala benefit the IICF Community Grants Program in the West, which supports regional charities focused on children at risk, education and human services.
Since 2014, IICF’s Western Division has granted more than $3.7 million to hundreds of nonprofits.
