AIG named a Marsh McLennan veteran as its new senior director of Investor Relations. Zurich North America appointed a new Head of Strategy for Innovation & Business Development. Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance chose a new Head of Marine as it launches a full line of marine insurance products in France. Guy Carpenter & Company will be getting a new head actuary for its UK Non-Specialty business.

American International Group, Inc. named Quentin McMillan as Vice President, Managing Director and Head of Investor Relations. Based in New York City, McMillan will report to Mark Lyons, the AIG Chief Financial Officer.

McMillan joins AIG from Marsh McLennan where he was Senior Director, Investor Relations. Before that he worked for Keefe, Bruyette & Woods as Managing Director Equity Research P&C Insurance.

Earlier in his career he worked for Morgan Stanley as Vice President Equity Research P&C Insurance.

Sabra Purtill remains a Deputy Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer for AIG, reporting to Lyons, and will continue to oversee Treasury & Banking and Rating Agency Relations. In addition, Purtill continues to serve as Interim Chief Risk Officer for AIG and is also taking a leading role in the separation of the Life & Retirement business from AIG.

Neeren Chauhan is the new Head of Strategy, Innovation & Business Development for Zurich North America. Chauhan will report to Zurich North America CEO Kristof Terryn.

Chauhan most recently was Vice President, Distribution Transformation and Market Share Growth for Allstate Insurance Company.

He has over two decades of global leadership experience across Asia, Europe, and North America. Chauhan joined KPMG in 2002 and served as a leader in the Operations and Technology Risk practice. In 2008, he joined McKinsey & Company where he held various positions within the Financial Services practice based out of the Chicago office. He joined Allstate in 2013 and held various senior leadership positions spearheading a variety of digital, strategy, business building, innovation, and change management initiatives.

Chauhan will be based at Zurich’s North America headquarters in Schaumburg, Ill.

Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance appointed Muriel Birre Julvécourt as Head of Marine as it launches a full line of marine insurance products in France.

The new marine offerings include: Inland Marine, Ocean Cargo, Stock & Transit, Project Cargo, Freight Forwarders Liability, Ports & Terminals, and Subsea Insurance.

Birre Julvécourt comes to BHSI with more than 25 years of marine underwriting experience. She was most recently Head of Marine at RSA Group. Before that, she held various management roles in Marine at Groupama Transport. She was a member of the Marine Committee of the French Federation for Insurance Companies (FFA) for nearly 10 years, and holds a master’s degree in Insurance Law from the University of Paris Panthéon Assas.

Muriel is based in BHSI’s office in Paris.

Guy Carpenter & Company appointed David Arthur as Head Actuary of its UK Non-Specialty business as of October 2021.

The business encompasses Global Casualty, Accident & Health, UK Property and UK Motor.

In this role, Arthur will be responsible for overseeing all actuarial activities undertaken within the aforementioned UK business units and will lead the ongoing development of the related analytical and pricing capabilities. Based in London, he will report to Richard Rodriguez, Head of Analytics and Advisory, UK and Global Specialties, Guy Carpenter.

Previously, Arthur was at Brit Insurance as Senior Pricing Manager, leading the firm’s actuarial teams with a particular responsibility for market intelligence, analytics and pricing for delegated business. Before that, he was Head of Pricing at Advent Insurance and operated across all business lines. He also held various lead actuarial positions at QBE Insurance.
