Guy Carpenter & Co. appointed an interim head of International Facultative Operations, to deal with an executive departure. Zurich Canada brought in an outside executive to run its Travel Insurance program.

Marsh & McLennan’s Guy Carpenter & Company appointed Frank Guerriero as Interim Head of International Facultative Operations.

Guerriero reports to James Nash, CEO, International, Guy Carpenter. He takes over these responsibilities from Paul Summers who has left the firm to pursue other opportunities.

Guerriero is an 18 year Guy Carpenter veteran and currently serves as Head of North American Property Fac. As Interim Head of International Facultative Operations he will be responsible for leading the facultative team in London.

Sanjeewa Goonetilleke joined Zurich Canada as AVP, Travel Insurance. He will be responsible for growing the insurer’s personal leisure travel and business travel accident products.

Goonetilleke is a 13 year travel insurance veteran. Before joining Zurich, he spent three years at Manulife as Business Development Manager. He also served as Director of Sales for Eastern and Western Canada with AIG Travel Guard.

Goonetilleke is based in Toronto and reports directly to Greg Irvine, Head of Specialty Products.

Irvine, in prepared remarks, said Goonetilleke was well equipped “to lead Zurich’s travel insurance business while we continue to strengthen our relationships with key distribution partners across the country.”
