All leaders face fears at some point during their tenures. Taking action can be a simple, direct way to overcome fears that they face.

A recent posting on the Leadership Freak blog argues that playing it safe can be easier than risking failure, but that action can both defeat and overcome fear.
“Stand up. Speak Up. Deliver what you have,” the posting by author Dan Rockwell encourages.
When a leader defeats a fear, the team benefits, according to the posting. The team finds encouragement, learning that purpose comes from focusing on others and how they can be served. They also learn by example, as their leader works through a fear and moves toward resolution.
