Liberty Mutual And Allstate elected new executives to their boards of directors. In both situations, they bring management expertise from other industries.
A Coca-Cola executive has been elected to Liberty Mutual Insurance’s Board of Directors.
Nancy Quan, the new board member, is chief technical officer for Coca-Cola North America and corporate officer of the Coca-Cola Company. As CTO, Quan has focused on areas including research and development, innovation, technical operations and commercialization; quality, safety and environment; and scientific and regulatory affairs.
Liberty Mutual CEO David Long said he sees Quan having a “positive impact” on the insurer’s board and global operations.
The Allstate Corp. disclosed that Gregg Sherrill has been elected to Allstate’s board of directors.
Sherrill is executive chairman of Tenneco, Inc., a company that produces clean air technology, among other products. He’s been executive chairman of the board of directors since May 2017, after serving for a decade as chairman and CEO. There are also other previous executive stints at places such as Johnson Controls Inc. and Ford Motor Co.
Tom Wilson, Allstate’s chairman and CEO, said Sherill’s experience at Tenneco and elsewhere “further strengthens the strategic and operational expertise on Allstate’s board.”
