Zurich North America’s streamlining continues with another new change. The insurer’s Specialty Products business is being brought together with its North America Commercial Insurance arm.

Zurich, in a press release announcing the change, said the organizational tweak is designed to provide easier access to its products and services and to establish more consistency in its go-to-market approach across North America and its global network.

Zurich named Paul Horgan, head of North America Commercial Insurance, to lead the newly expanded unit. He reports to Mike Foley, CEO of Zurich North America, and James Shea, CEO of Commercial Insurance globally for Zurich.

Horgan said that this latest organizational revamp continues Zurich’s streamlining strategy in some vital ways.

“We are confident this structure will help us become more agile, more collaborative and more customer-focused,” Horgan said in prepared remarks.

As part of the revamp, Brian Winters is the new head of Specialty Products for Zurich North America, and he’ll report to Horgan. Previously, he led Zurich’s casualty business in North America, and he has also handled managing relationships with Zurich’s largest customers and brokers.

Winters replaces Bryan Salvatore, a 20-year Zurich North America veteran who served almost the last five years as president of the $2.2 billion specialty products business. The Hanover Insurance Group announced it has hired Salvatore as executive vice president and president of specialty, effective June 12.

Zurich announced in November that it would combine its North America Commercial Markets and Global Corporate businesses into one division. Horgan, formerly head of Global Corporate in North America for Zurich, was named to lead the new unit. In January, Zurich formally began calling the combined operation its North America Commercial Insurance Unit.
