Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance, OdysseyRe and the Property Casualty Insurers Association of America have each recently made new executive appointments.

Here are the details:

  • Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance appointed Amanda Sorsak to lead its property & energy claims operation in Canada. She is joining BHSI from Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty in Toronto, where she served as executive general adjuster. Sorsak also held a number of previous positions at FM Global.
  • OdysseyRe has appointed Paul Skritch to lead its new accident & health reinsurance initiative. His official title will be senior vice president and head of A&H, and he’ll report to Brian Quinn, CEO of OdysseyRe’s North America division. Skritch most recently served as chief actuary at Equinox Management Group, where he managed an excess medical reinsurance facility and underwrote a number of specialty accident and health products.
  • PCI elected Mark Wachholz as its senior vice president, chief financial officer and assistant treasure during the trade association’s recent winter board meeting in Dana Point, Calif. Previously, he was controller at Gallagher Benefit Services, a division of Arthur J. Gallagher, a global brokerage for commercial insurance, employee benefits and risk management products. Wachholz also has prior experience from positions held at Ernst & Young and at the Illinois Department of Insurance.
