Swiss Re Corporate Solutions announced the appointment of Jeff Summerville to lead Financial & Professional Services for North America earlier this week.

Summerville has more than 25 years of experience in the financial and professional liability market with significant brokerage relationships. He started in the role on May 19, reporting directly to Robert Petrilli, Head of North America.

In a statement about the appointment, Petrilli it confirms the commitment of Swiss Re Corporate Solutions “to being a commercial insurance leader and a top choice for financial, executive and professional liability risks.”

Summerville’s primary responsibility will be to develop and execute a regional growth strategy for:

• Management liability and executive risks: directors and officers liability, employment practices liability and fiduciary liability.
• Professional liability: lawyers, insurance agents, architects and engineers, as well as technology and cyber risks and hospital medical malpractice;
• Construction industry professional indemnity.

Summerville has held underwriting and senior-level positions with Chubb, Zurich and, most recently, Endurance Specialty Holdings. As senior vice president, global product line manager at Endurance, he was responsible for underwriting oversight of all management liability, professional liability, surety and trade credit insurance and reinsurance business.
