Clifford Easton joined Endurance Specialty Holdings Ltd. on Friday as Executive Vice President and Global Head of Energy Insurance, Endurance announced.

Endurance, in its announcement released on Thursday, said Easton is responsible for launching a new specialty insurance line covering both onshore and offshore energy.

Easton comes to Endurance with more than 30 years experience in the marine and energy markets focused on multi-national oil, gas, electricity and chemical clients.

His most recent prior position was with AXIS Capital where he served as Executive Vice President and Onshore Energy Manager responsible for their global energy portfolio.

Prior to joining AXIS, he was a founding partner of Hiscox Syndicates and served as their Marine and Energy Division Head.

He was also elected to serve on the London Market Rig and Associated Business Committee and has served on various industry working groups in the London insurance community.

Easton started his career at the H.J. Brasier Marine Syndicate at Lloyd`s in 1974.

He will be based in Endurance`s London office, supported by two energy underwriters, Senior Vice President Tom Houston and Assistant Vice President, Alex Murray.

Easton reports to Graham Evans, Chief Executive Officer, International Insurance.
