Endurance Specialty Holdings Ltd., a Bermuda-based provider of property/casualty insurance and reinsurance, on Thursday announced that Scott Galiardo, senior vice president, will assume the newly created role of group actuary with oversight responsibility for Endurance’s corporate actuarial, reserving and ceded reinsurance activities on a global basis.
Over his 26-year career, Galiardo has held a number of senior actuarial roles across both primary and reinsurance businesses and has also been responsible for ceded reinsurance purchasing. Galiardo is based in Endurance’s New York office and reports to Joan deLemps, Endurance’s chief risk officer.
Galiardo joined Endurance in 2010 from Odyssey Re Group, where he most recently served as executive vice president, chief actuary and ceded reinsurance manager for their U.S. insurance division, Hudson Insurance Group. Prior to that, Galiardo was senior vice president, chief actuary and director of information services at Odyssey Re.
