American International Group Inc., the insurer that repaid a U.S. government bailout last year, announced plans to merge two insurance units in Japan.
AIU Insurance Co. and Fuji Fire & Marine Insurance Co. will combine as soon as the second half of 2015, New York-based AIG said today in a statement.
