Though face-to-face networking is most effective, virtual networking via channels such as LinkedIn groups is also beneficial and can lead to in-person networking events. According to a 2016 blog posting from HireGrowth, an insurance recruiting firm, the following are among the top LinkedIn groups for insurance professionals, including the group’s mission statement from their page and member counts as of late March 2018. The blog posting lists a dozen groups.

Insurance Professionals: 183,119 members

“The largest and most active spam-free insurance group on LinkedIn. A group for property, casualty, life, health insurance and annuity professionals, underwriters, risk managers, producers, claims personnel, home office executives, and those who work in insurance.”

Global Insurance Professionals: 99,117 members

“Life insurance, general insurance, property and casualty, health insurance, annuity, pensions professionals across the globe. Actuary, reinsurance, underwriter, policy servicing, claims. Financial, banking professionals also welcome to join.”

Insurance Journal: 93,299 members

Global Insurance Network: 74,892 members

“Group for global professionals in the insurance (life insurance, general insurance, P&C, health insurance)/reinsurance/risk management/brokers/agents/bancassurance/claims professionals who’d be keen to share their experiences, knowledge and drive stronger value addition to the group.”

Insurance Claims Professionals: 70,859 members

“This group is intended for individuals who are in the insurance claims profession and would like the opportunity to network with other insurance claims professionals.”

Reinsurance Insurance Professionals Worldwide: 37,251 members

“The purpose of this group is to bring reinsurance and insurance professionals together on LinkedIn. People with experience in this business will be allowed to join this group.”

ReMark eXchange: 24,547 members

Not included in the HireGrowth blog item but mentioned in the accompanying article is the Women’s Insurance Networking Group, which also has a LinkedIn Group.

Women’s Insurance Networking Group: 1,124 members
