A veteran of Zurich Insurance and Travelers is joining Hamilton Underwriting Ltd. as its head of professional indemnity.

Daniel Prince‘s job at Hamilton Underwriting – the managing agency of Lloyd’s Syndicate 3334 and the Lloyd’s operations of Hamilton Insurance Group – will cover several areas.

Hamilton Insurance GroupPrince will be responsible for developing a number of specialist professional indemnity products and insuring clients of any size and over wide range of sectors. He’ll also write an international portfolio of primary and excess business on both a lead and follow basis.

As well, Prince will report to Stuart Quinlan, deputy active underwriter and head of professional lines.

Before Hamilton, Prince was based at Barbican, where he was underwriting manager for professional indemnity. Previously, he also held leadership roles at Zurich Insurance and Travelers.

Ironshore appointed Juan Melo to become its head of crisis management for Latin America and the Caribbean. He’ll focus on complex risk exposures of War & Terrorism and Kidnap & Ransom.

Melo will report to Pepe Marquez, managing director for Ironshore in Latin America and the Caribbean.

Melo was previously with Hiscox, where he served as a senior vice president in Miami and senior client relationship manager at Hiscox ASM in London,.

Philippe Gouraud is XL Catlin’s new head of strategic client and broker management for its Xl Catlininsurance segment. He’ll report to Kelly Lyles, chief regional officer, insurance, at XL Catlin.

In his new role, Gouraud will focus, in part on client and broker management, as well as driving service in areas including Global Programs and Captives.

Gouraud founded an MGA in 2014. Before that, he was with AIG for 15 years, where he handled both underwriting and senior account management roles. He was head of risk financing at ELF Aquitaine Group (now part of Total SA) before joining AIG.
