Hippo Holdings Inc. announced a strategic partnership with the Innovations segment of Greenlight Capital Re Ltd. that connects opportunities to invest in emerging managing general agents with carrier and reinsurance support for their programs.
Through the investment model of Greenlight Re Innovations, Hippo can invest alongside Greenlight Re in early-stage insurance programs, while its subsidiary Spinnaker Insurance Company can serve as Greenlight’s preferred U.S. admitted fronting carrier for qualifying co-invested programs as opportunities align. Spinnaker will issue the insurance policies behind those programs through a connected, aligned deal flow. Greenlight Re will bring reinsurance capacity and expertise to support the insurance risk.
This partnership will coordinate the relationships emerging MGAs need for capacity, capital, and expertise for qualifying programs. For the wider insurance market, the aim is to help new providers develop products backed by experienced underwriting and reinsurance partners.
The partnership comes as Hippo works with emerging MGA programs to support insurance innovation and diversify across insurance products. Greenlight Re brings a source of potential investments and program partners supported by Hippo’s underwriting experience and Spinnaker’s carrier capacity.

Donegal Insurance Group has expanded its partnership with ZestyAI, adding Z-PROPERTY to deepen its understanding of the properties and exposures across its personal lines portfolio.
The expansion builds on a relationship that began in 2025 when Donegal selected ZestyAI’s Roof Age solution to improve its own internal data and understanding of property risk across its homeowners business.
Roof Age combines building permit records with more than 20 years of historical aerial imagery to pinpoint roof replacement events.

Mitchell, a developer of auto physical damage technology solutions, announced plans to expand its collaboration with Tractable through a proposed, exclusive agreement focused on optimizing the vehicle intake process.
By connecting Tractable’s LumaScanner vehicle inspection system with Mitchell’s automated estimating solution, Mitchell Intelligent Estimating, the companies intend to help North American multi-site operators and independent collision repair centers accelerate damage assessment and preliminary estimate creation.
As a vehicle passes through, LumaScanner automatically inspects it and produces a condition report. Once integrated with Mitchell’s cloud ecosystem, that condition report could feed Mitchell Intelligent Estimating to automatically generate a preliminary estimate for appraisers to review and edit. Together with Mitchell’s existing mobile photo-capture capabilities, the planned offering would give repairers the flexibility to document vehicle damage through either a physical or digital intake process.
